SVP of Engineering
A seasoned, creative technologist and an inspirational leader, Don Gordon brings more than 30 years of technical and business expertise to his role as SVP of Engineering at OnLive.
Don is both a visionary inventor and a hands-on manager, who has built and led teams of more than 100 engineers from the ground up. In 2009, he founded Bulldog United, LLC, where he spearheaded the development of groundbreaking real-time video ACR technology and led the company through to its acquisition by Gracenote, Inc (a division of Sony) in May 2012. Prior to being President and CEO of Bulldog, Don was COO and SVP of Engineering and Operations at ActiveVideo Networks, where he was responsible for re-architecting, developing and launching the new ActiveVideo product.
Don has also held executive level positions at Microsoft, where he oversaw TVD and Microsoft TV initiatives; DIVA systems, where he developed an intellectual property portfolio that includes more than 70 pending and issued patents; and Ericsson. As Principal of the Gordon Group, he developed planning and estimating software for the US Navy as well as movie industry clients such as Warner Brothers, Universal, Disney and others.
Don holds a B.A. in Mathematics and Computer Science, and an M.S. in Cybernetic Systems from San Jose State. He has filed approximately 90 patent applications in the last thirteen years and holds 55 issued US patents in video compression, video manipulation, streaming video, VOD, video automatic content recognition (Video ACR), digital ad insertion and IPG-related technologies.
