Engineering Systems Administrator

OnLive seeks a talented systems administrator to join our Systems Integration team as an Engineering Systems Administrator. We do not seek a BOFH. We seek a contributor who appreciates the continuous challenge of managing hundreds of software packages at all levels of scale for both Linux and Windows platforms. Activities range from helpdesk-like support of development teams when their code fails in a particular environment, to guiding software from Engineering to Operations via documented, sound procedures.
 
Responsibilities:
  •  Conduct periodic deployments of active service platform software manifests across all flavors of internal environments: development, test, scale and staging
  •  Contribute to service platform deployment automation framework and continuous integration framework
  •  Perform initial investigations of post-deployment problems. Pull logs and file detailed bugs
  •  Provide helpdesk assistance to service platform software development teams for internal environments
  •  Be an effective liaison between Engineering and Operations teams. Assist all teams with the transition and delivery of software in all phases of the development life cycle
 Requirements:
  •  BSCS (or equivalent experience)
  •  2+ years of experience administrating a software delivery environment, preferably one where continuous integration is used
  •  Demonstrated competency in shell scripting and Linux systems administration, particularly package management
  •  Demonstrated competency scripting on at least one other popular scripting language, Ruby and/or Python preferred
  •  Demonstrated competency reading and debugging a major programming language such as C(++) or Java
